These are other important things to read about battle and death:
Rule 1: Called Hits - Called hits can be allowed, but usually need to be discussed first. If you prefer not to use called hits, you can state OOC that you do not wish to go by called hits.
Rule 2: Stating Rules - As with called hits, participants should agree on rules before starting a fight. It is not required, but highly suggested. This will hopefully help lessen arguements about what happens in a fight. However, should someone make an attack without stating rules, then he or she automatically forfeits his or her rights in a battle.
Rule 3: Resurrection - Because of the magic weakness upon the planet, resurrections are highly unlikely. For that reason, if you strongly feel the need to resurrect a character, you will need to first discuss it with ME, then roll a d100 (type in /dice 1d100 and hit enter). If you get a 75+ then there's a chance your character will be resurrected. Otherwise, forget it. If you do get the 75+, then you will roll again (same thing) and that's the percentage of a chance that your character will be revived...anything over 50% (this could change) will be resurrected. ONLY ADMINS AND MODERATORS can perform a resurrection...and only after I've seen the dice rolls. The specific resurrection will be given a time period to take and will be dealt with when the time comes.
Rule 4: Challenges - Players of SRI have a right to choose if he or she wishes to be involved in a fight. If a player's character is attacked then he or she shouldn't choose to ignore the post, but must state they wish not to fight. However, if the person being attacked is involved in a RP in which they would naturally be attacked then they must accept the challenge. This means that if someone attacks your char randomly w/o provocation, you may choose -not- to fight with them. If your char is involved with someone else who may attack/may be attacked/is involved in a RP where a combo of the two may occur, then your char is subject to any of the aforementioned events.
Rule 5: No Omni-Dodging. No char can dodge or parry every attack- some damage must be taken every couple attacks. RPers should know the limitations of their char and take damage accordingly.
Rule 6: Wounds - Relating to rule 5, chars should act differently in a battle after sustaining moderate to heavy wounds. If your char has just had a bone broken then it should affect his/her performance. If the char is bleeding profusely they may begin to get slightly light headed after a couple minutes. If it is stated that a character feels no pain and/or is unaffected by such things in their bio, then this rule can be disregarded...but really that shouldn't be stated unless it's been okayed.
