I've seen many chat rooms with people who are guilty of not doing this. This isn't about minding your own business when it comes to ic things or rl things, but it's ooc behind the chat things. I have a bit of a personal grudge with this because in 3 chatrooms now that I've been in, not always involving me but I've witnessed and it's affected me in some way, or it happened to me personally as it has recently, people are overly concerned about who people rp with and how others rp their character. It's not anyone's business. On a personal note, though I'm 100% positive I speak for others, I don't always feel like rping with specific people or specific characters, depending on my mood, what kind of day I've had, how my kids had behaved, and how I'm feeling. If I want to have my character sit her butt in the middle of the park, stark naked and hit on every single guy who comes to the park, that's my perogative. If I want to have one of my characters screw his/her partner every single night, that's my perogative. If I want to rp 4 people at once...my perogative. RP only 1 person tonight, my perogative. Don't give someone crap about it. It's not up for anyone but the rper him/herself to decide. I'm not going to AIM someone and start complaining that they are rping with someone too much. Or that they're not rping with me. Or that they're screwing too many people. I'm not going to start IMing someone and getting pissed about a vampire who is kind and caring when vampires are typically on the cold side. I'm not going to start it up with someone who's rping a gentle drow. There are situations that people rp or want to rp that bother me and most others, but you know what? It's opinion. And my opinion is based on personal feelings, not rules. So when someone does something you don't like, check your jealousy, your envy, your disbelief, your shock, and your anger and get over it. It's not your business. Remember this when rping, everyone.
